Introduction: Today, nurses in order to implement successful nursing care need variety of ‎knowledge on techniques of surgery in different operations. By knowing the level of ‎knowledge and practice of nurses, their educational needs can be determined.‎

 Objective: This study aims to determine the educational needs of nurses on medicine use, its ‎indications and optic surgery techniques Methods: This is a descriptive study done on all ‎‏33‏‎ nurses employed in optic operating rooms ‎in educational hospitals. The data collection instrument included a questionnaire which was ‎filled by nurses and data analyzed by SPSS software.‎

Results: From the total nurses surveyed, ‎‏48.5%‏‎ had good knowledge and practice and ‎‏33.3%‏‎ ‎had unsatisfactory knowledge and practice and ‎‏28.3%‏‎ had moderate practice.‎

Conclusion: In attention to results obtained nurses employed in optic operation rooms need ‎knowledge, information and continuing education on medicine, surgery techniques and ‎especially optic surgery techniques.‎
