ECT تحریک الکتریکی مختصر برای تولید یک حمله کلی است که در آن جریان الکتریکی از طریق الکترودهایی در ناحیه گیجگاهی به فرد وارد می گردد و موجب یک تشنج وسیع با اثرات درمانی می شود.
