Therefore, proper planning is needed and assessing the effect of teaching on skills of anger self-regulation and impulsivity in mothers is important. Objective: The present research was done to assess anger management teaching program efficacy on Anger self-regulatory skill and impulsivity in mothers of boys in elementary schools in Rasht.  Methods: This study has a pre-post test design in which 15 mothers were chosen as research samples among mothers having anger and impulsivity scores higher than the mean score of society. Data collection tool was a 3 part questionnaire including 1) demographic data, 2) Anger self-regulatory skills scale (STAXI-2) and 3) Barrat impulsivity scale that was used by self-reporting method at pre and post intervention (anger management teaching program) stages.  Results: Finding indicated that half (50%) of samples were in 30 - 40 years age group and had BA degree in education. The majority of them had one child. Also results showed that selected intervention significantly decreased anger scale (P=0.000) and all of its subscales, with exception of anger trait, but it did not have any effect on impulsivity and its domains.  Conclusion: According to these results, Anger management teaching plan can be a proper approach only to improve anger self-regulatory skills. Entrance to university is a period that is very crucial in living of active and skilled forces in every country which accompanies changes with interpersonal and social relationship. A number of students adapt themselves with new condition and accept changes with flexibility and maintain mental health and achieve educational success. But some others are not able to adapt properly and this mal adaptation has negative effect on individual’s function and outcome. One’s reaction to stressors depends mainly on cultural, religious, social and past experiences. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of religious beliefs in stress reduction in students of Langroud Faculty of Medical Sciences. Methods: This is a correlational descriptive study. Samples included first year students residing in dormitories and all second term students in nursing, laboratory and radiology technicians (60 students). Data collection instrument included two questionnaires of Santa Clara which assessed religious beliefs and Storch Stress test and they were self reported. Results: The results showed that 87.9% of students had high level of beliefs. Also results showed that 56.3% of students had moderate stress. Results indicated a significant relationship between religious beliefs and level of stress when examined by chi-square (x2=9.38). Results showed no significant relationship between age, marital status, economic status and stress and religious beliefs. Also no significant relation was reported between study majors and stress and religious beliefs. Adopting to such conditions needs awareness of the ways to overcome these problems. Gaining life skill together with knowledge and science and appropriate change of attitudes, values and reinforcement of appropriate behaviors lead to normal behaviors which reduce problem and obstacles of health and therefore increase mental health.  Objective: This research aimed to determine life skills of 11-19 year old children affected by thalassemia who refer to Educational and Remedial Centers in City of Rasht from their Mothers’ point of view in 2009-2010. Methods: This research is a cross sectional descriptive study in which 150 mothers of children affected by thalassemia, who refer to educational and remedial centers of the city of Rasht participated. Tools applied to collect data in this research are a certain questionnaire which includes two parts of demographic data and life skill. Regarding the increasing number of elderly individuals and prevalent mental disorders, seeking other sources in order to prevent the difficulties of geriatric conditions is necessary. It seems that religion can play an important role in supporting the elderly in reducing the mental disorders and making meaningful life. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the role of internal and external religious beliefs in general health of the elderly members of pensioners association of Guilan University of Medical Sciences – Rasht.  Methods: This study was a descriptive – correlational research. Sampling performed, through easy sampling method. 100 members of pensioner association from both gender (female and male) took part in the study. Data collection instrument was a questionnaire consisted of three parts. Part one was about demographic Data, Part two about internal and external religious beliefs of Aloport and part three was about general health status with 28 questions. Data were analyzed by descriptive-analytical methods, using SPSS. Results: The research findings indicated that external religious beliefs, has strong correlation with visiting relatives and social activities. Internal religious beliefs correlates with emotional supports received from family members and others (P < 0.05). Non- parametric statistical test revealed a significant correlation between internal religious belief and general health (P < 0.05). Conclusion: It was demonstrated that religious beliefs as an important source of support can help elderly people to achieve better physical and mental health. Trophoblastic diseas in pregnancy is referred to special group of diseases with different invasive and metastasis types. In attention to the importance of this disease and its high incidence in Asian and African countries and scant information in Iran, especially in Guilan, this study aims to determine the risk factors and clinical course in pregnant women who suffer from hydatidiform mole in Alzahra hospital in Rasht from 2003-2007. Methods: This is a retrospective descriptive study and its sample consists of all pregnant mothers who referred to Alzahra hospital in Rasht from 2003-2007 and were diagnosed with hydatidiform mole with sonography and were hospitalized and treated. The data were collected through patient records. Results: In this study 78 pregnant mothers with hydatidifrom mole were surveyed who referred to Alzahra hospital. The mean age of women studied was 26 years. Fifty-two percent were primigravida. In (%76.9) of samples, disease was diagnosed in gestational age less or equal to 14 weeks (first trimester of pregnancy). In this study blood group O+ (%14) with positive Rh (%84) had the most frequency. Majority (%56.4) resided in villages in Guilan province. (%2.6) of mothers had the history of H.M. %10.3 of mothers had abortion that happened before molar pregnancy. Most mothers (%39.7) didn’t use contraception. The most prevalent sign was uterus size bigger than gestational age (%75). Vaginal bleeding(%74.4), anemia(%99.2), hyperemesis gravidarum (%19.2) thyrotoxicosis(%19.2 ) tecalutein cyst(%10.2) were seen in study samples. A mentally retarded child in family can have unsatisfactory effects on family structure and function and can impose physical, mental, social and economic burden on the family. So, to some extent the family loses its current life pattern and it leads to disintegration of family discipline. Objective: This study aims to determine the problems of families with mentally retarded child covered by Guilan Welfare Centers in 2010. Methods: This is a cross-sectional and descriptive study which studied 140 parents of children with mental retardation who are under protection of one of the intellectual disability center affiliated to Guilan welfare center. The instrument used included researcher made questionnaire assessing the problems of families with mentally retarded child. The samples were chosen by survey and entered the study by interview. Data collected were analyzed using chi-square and exact fisher test and SPSS software version 14. Results: Findings showed that 65.7% of samples had economic problems. Health behaviors play important role in prevention of problems.  Objective: The aim of this study is to determine health behaviors in elderlies referring to active retirement centers in Rasht city in 2008.  Methods: This was a correlational descriptive study in which 320 members from active retirement centers in Rasht city participated in this study. Data was collected by a two part questionnaire that included demographic and health behaviors in four domains of physical activity, nutrition, interpersonal relationships and stress management which were gathered by interview. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics and chi-square test by SPSS version 15.  Results: Findings showed that mean score for the health behaviors were 92.5 ±13.6 and members obtained 55.6 percent of health behaviors score. The mean scores for sub scales were, nutrition: 23.1±4.4, physical activity: 14.95±4.3, interpersonal relationships: 29.5±4.7 and stress management: 24.8±4.2. There were statistically significant relation between health behaviors and general characteristics such as education level (p=0.01), family composition (p=0.008), monthly income (p=0.000), marital status (p=0.03) and occupational group (p=0.000). Conclusion: According to the study findings, it is concluded that different factors could correlate with health behaviors in elderly people.
