Marital satisfaction of women referring to health care centers in Brojen

Introduction: One of the important aspects of coping with marriage is marital satisfaction. The feeling of marital satisfaction has a significant role in normal family functions. Marital conflicts have grown in today’s world and it shows the need to assess the causes of family and marital conflicts.

Objective: This study aimed to assess marital satisfaction in women referring to health care centers in Brojen and its effective factors in 2005.

Methods: This is a descriptive an analyctic study. In this study, the 47 question of Enrich marital satisfaction scale and a questionnaire regarding and effective demographic factors were used. The sample included married women of Brojen which consisted of 400 women referring to health care centers in Brojen. Data were analyzed by spss and statistical tests such as frequency, mean and X2.   

Result: Most samples (36.3%) were relatively satisfied with their marriage. Also (14.2%) of samples were strongly dissatisfied and (13.9%) had strong marital satisfaction. The most problem of these women was communication. But as the educational level (men and women) increased, marital satisfaction also improved.

Conclusion: In attention to study results, psychological consultation and giving adequate knowledge to people before and during marriage is suggested to remote communication skills and marital satisfaction.
